This project was a fault finding mission on a bow thruster generator which had a tripping problem. The SeaKing Group engineers noted that the frequency and voltage curves did not appear correct for the method of starting and it emerged that the voltage was collapsing during the initial load increase. This in turn pointed towards an excitation or AVR problem. Our team of engineers solved this problem by fitting a new AVR.
