Project Scope:
The project’s focus was the comprehensive upgrade of the central air conditioning plant for the 332-bedroom Bibby Renaissance vessel. The objective was to improve control, usability, and efficiency in managing temperature conditions throughout the ship. Known for our global reach and capability to handle international projects, we executed this task across ports in Kippul, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Challenges and Solutions:
The team faced challenging conditions, working in temperatures exceeding 40°C in ports across Malaysia and Singapore. Despite these challenges, SeaKing’s skilled and experienced workforce demonstrated resilience and adaptability, ensuring the successful completion of the project.
Technical Upgrades:
SeaKing’s technicians, including electrical technicians and software engineers, completed the air conditioning system overhaul. The upgrades involved the installation of new panel controls in the plant room featuring programmable logical controllers (PLCs) and enhanced visual indications. These improvements made the entire system more user-friendly and efficient, allowing for better management of temperature conditions and a broader range of parameters, including compressors.
Outcomes and Future Focus:
The upgraded Bibby Renaissance Coastel, now moored at Barrow Island off Australia’s northwest coast, serves as an offshore accommodation facility with various amenities. We are committed to excellence and a complete electrical services package, from survey and design to manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.

In collaboration with marine refrigeration specialists Brooktherm, SeaKing demonstrated our ability to seamlessly integrate electrical upgrades into complex maritime systems.
