Apprentices
The Seaking Group vision is to be 1st in class. That means that we as a company shall continue to maintain investment in our people through continuous input, into ongoing training programmes.
Training Tomorrows Engineers
At Seaking Group, we’re dedicated to being at the forefront of our industry. That commitment extends to our people through ongoing training initiatives. A key focus is ensuring compliance with health and safety standards driven by our project-specific needs.
SeaKing is cultivating a skilled workforce for specialised training in power generation, radar systems, fire detection, and communication systems. Our junior managers receive project management, administration, leadership, quality assurance, and environmental issues training.
Recognising the industry’s ageing workforce, we’ve launched a program to bring in younger, qualified marine and industrial electrical engineers.
SeaKing selects candidates through direct applications or training providers like the Mersey Engineering College North West and TTE Ltd in Ellesmere Port. We typically welcome 2 to 4 new electrical apprentices each year, with a rigorous selection process involving panel interviews.
Our sponsored apprentices work on their Level 3 extended NVQ portfolios while gaining practical experience within our shipyard and workshops. They follow a structured work program, exposing them to various aspects of marine engineering, with regular assessments by designated assessors.
Based on their performance, apprentices may have the opportunity for onsite college training to obtain a BTEC Electrical Engineering qualification. We encourage and support our apprentices’ career development, expecting them to continue to advance, potentially achieving HNC/HND qualifications.
