SeaKing Electrical lands major maritime award
The firm secured the Maritime Award in front of more than 450 leading figures from the regional business world. The prestigious annual event at Birkenhead School was hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Roger Phillips to recognise and reward the Wirral’s best businesses and leading entrepreneurs.
SeaKing Group Business Development Manager Neil Mellenchip received the award on behalf of the company alongside the firm’s finance Director Chris Dahill. Mr Mellenchip said it was a proud moment for the Birkenhead business which has delivered projects across globe in the last 12 months.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have received the 2013 Maritime Award,” he said. “We were in an extremely strong category with other organisations and businesses which carry out terrific work including the likes of Mersey Maritime and Dantec ltd. We take great pride in our global reach and the standard of work we deliver. We carry out projects across a broad range of marine sectors including military, commercial, leisure and offshore markets. One of our greatest strengths is the broad range of services we offer including marine surveys, installations, repairs and upgrades. Our skill, expertise, flexibility and appetite for growth also enables us to send personnel to remote locations at short notice. We are delighted these qualities were acknowledged by the judges on the night.”
SeaKing Electrical’s successful award application further focused on the firm’s ethos and training policy. Mr Mellenchip said the business keeps abreast of latest industry developments and pioneering trends to stay competitive. “We also invest great time, effort and money into our apprenticeship programme to bring on the region’s next generation and to future proof the firm,” he said. “Another of SeaKing’s strengths is our longstanding partnerships with other service providers, which remain a key business strategy to further develop skills and training.”
