SeaKing’s contribution for the phase one restoration of the world-famous TS Queen Mary
Following SeaKing’s contribution for the phase one restoration of the world-famous TS Queen Mary, our CEO Martin Sealeaf will proudly be onboard today joining in the celebration of phase 1 completion.
Our expertise in detailed electrical design has been utilised to support this iconic vessel’s restoration with the end result of returning her to the permanent berth on the River Clyde.
‘Some of the most famous people of the last 100 years have walked the decks of TS Queen Mary, including King George VI, Their Majesties Queen Elizabeth and Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret, Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, Earl Mountbatten of Burma and superstar of music hall and Vaudeville, Sir Harry Lauder.
Our campaign, spearheaded by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, is to return this iconic ship to service as the UK’s first-ever training ship, so that not only can passengers follow in the footsteps of her famous guests, but also so that the next generation of deck officer, engineer and catering/hospitality rating can develop their knowledge and skills for careers at sea.
Following the completion of basic design, we are looking forward to the next phases of the project, and my colleagues and I see SeaKing Group being very much part of this exciting journey. ‘ Iain Sim Chairman, Friends of TS Queen Mary
